BMH Golf Pathway For 2020/21 柏朗思观澜湖学校高尔夫路径

Below you will see the structure for this year’s golf pathway at Bromsgrove School Mission Hills. Our partnership with the PGA continues to thrive and after several years developing our relationship with them, the school has never been in a stronger position in terms of its golf offer to students.

With the majority of the Covid 19 challenges now appearing to be in the past, I am delighted to report that the PGA coach from last year’s Ascenders programme has recently returned to China. Daniel Harrison will be available to be the lead coach for this year’s Ascender programme. The programme is expected to start on Monday November 23rd after Daniel Harrison has completed his 3 week mandatory quarantine.

The new Ascender programme will begin for a 15 week period, with 6 hours of specialist golf coaching every week. This will mirror the timings of last year with 3 sessions after school every Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 4pm and 6pm. There will be regular opportunities to take part in golfing competitions whilst developing all elements of the game at the Shenzhen golf range. 

As you will see above the Ascenders programme is a stepping stone on from the introductions to the game of golf that occur within PE lesson time at school and also during end of the day golf CCAs. The school in partnership with the PGA is offering students who have shown golfing potential and enthusiasm the opportunity to participate in the Ascenders programme. The next opportunity to join the programme will be from November 23rd. In order to provide BMH families with as much information as possible, the school is hosting the first parent briefing session about the content of the golfing pathway on Tuesday, November 17th between 11am - 12pm at “I Pet You” across from the school campus. This session will be led by the PGA staff alongside Mr Dan Rhodes (Deputy Head Holistic). All parents of children in Prep 1-6 (inclusive) are welcome to attend, but we do require families to return their intention to attend as we have limited capacity.

We start golf training every morning between 7.30am and 8am. We practise different aspects of our long and short game until 11.15am. In addition we have 3 fitness sessions every week.
