New landmark marks Marriott’s new chapter of growt

Jinwan District in West Zhuhai, Guangdong Province on June 28 witnessed the opening of its first high-end hotel, the Zhuhai Marriott Hotel Jinwan.

The hotel, jointly developed by Zhuhai Huafa Group and Marriott International, will serve as an important hospitality facility within the two-hour life circle of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). It overlooks the emerging CBD area of Jinwan Aviation New City and is reachable within half an hour by car from the Zhuhai Airport and the Zhuhai Air Exhibition Center.

“We hope the hotel can become a new landmark that brings more opportunities to West Zhuhai and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area,” John Zhu, general manager of the hotel, said at a press conference held on the sidelines of the hotel’s opening ceremony June 28, “Whether you are on a business trip, visiting exhibitions or traveling with your family, our hotel will definitely be an ideal place to stay,” he said.

A number of international design teams, including Hong Kong-based Ten Design Group Limited and the world’s leading hospitality interior design consultants Hirsch Bednar Associates (HBA), drew inspiration for the hotel’s exterior and interior design from Jinwan’s booming aviation industry, Zhuhai’s geographical characteristics as an important coastal port city in southern China, and the maritime Silk Road culture. The façade of the hotel is in aerodynamic shape, forming a good match with the Zhuhai Jinwan Civic Art Center, whose design also takes after the shape of aircraft. The hotel’s lobby, located on the 22nd floor of the Huafai International Business Center, is a curvilinear space dotted with nautical ornaments, reminding guests of the city’s dynamic coastline.

Smart technologies are used to enhance the hotel’s guest experience. Every of the hotel’s 296 guest rooms and suites is equipped with a smart air-conditioning system that automatically sets the temperature to 22 degrees Celsius after check-in, a customizable lighting systems, and an IPTV system that displays the hotel overview, travel information and local and international TV programs. Guests can also project their phones on the screen by connecting to the TV system via Bluetooth. Through the Marriott Bonvoy^TM app, guests can directly check in and out and receive a digital key card with access to their rooms, elevators and the hotel’s 24-hour fitness center.

The hotel offers stylish dining venues for its guests. The all-day dining restaurant Zhuhai Kitchen on the 22nd floor offers an à la carte menu and a buffet with live cooking stations, seafood and a range of international dishes. On the fifth floor, the Man Ho Chinese Restaurant serves fine Cantonese and Hunan cuisine. You can also stop by the hotel’s lounge for an afternoon high tea or stay until dusk to enjoy a cocktail in the presence of a view of the city at night.

Other supporting facilities at the hotel include more than 2,000 square meters of meeting and event space, suitable for holding meetings, weddings, exhibitions and banquets of various sizes; a 25-meter outdoor swimming pool with lounges, and the M Club executive lounge for senior Marriott Bonvoy^TM members.

Following in the footsteps of The St. Regis Zhuhai and the Sheraton Zhuhai Hotel, the Zhuhai Marriott Hotel Jinwan is the third collaborative project between Huafa Group and Marriott International in Zhuhai. The two sides announced at a June 28 signing ceremony that they will join hands to open Shenzhen’s third JW Marriott Hotel in Qianhai.
