SPG announces throughput spikes for 2022

On last Dec 30, SPG's overall cargo throughput exceeded 1.6 billion metric tons and its container volume surpassed 37 million TEUs for 2022, up 6.4 percent and 8.7 percent year-on-year respectively, continuing to rank No 1 and No 3 globally. With its comprehensive competitiveness scaling new heights, SPG has achieved historical breakthrough and made solid steps toward its ambition of becoming a world-class sea port.

The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China reported that the country will develop the marine economy, protect the marine ecological environment, and step up efforts to build China into a strong maritime country. In March 2018, Chinese President Xi Jinping entrusted Shandong province with the political task of "attaching greater importance to develop knowledge on the ocean" and "speeding up the progress in the construction of world-class sea ports". In October 2021, Chinese President Xi Jinping once again gave important instructions on Shandong's development during his inspection tour in Shandong, thus navigating the route and direction forward for SPG's high-quality development.

In the face of this "must-answer question", SPG has posted an outstanding performance by handling 1.6 billion tons of cargo and 37 million TEUs of containers and turned itself into a world-class port conglomerate.

SPG has stayed committed to promoting the sea-land two-way development. On the sea side, SPG has opened 37 new shipping routes, bringing the total route number to 327, including 233 foreign trade routes, ranking No 1 in northern China in terms of route number and density. Overland, SPG has continued to improve its radiation force, launching 32 inland ports and 82 freight routes. Its sea-rail combined transportation capacity exceeded three million TEUs, ranking first in Chinese ports for several years in a row.

Port integration reform is the driving force for SPG to bring collective efforts together and advance efficient and sustainable development, which is also thgreatest source for SPG to optimize resource allocation across more areas and shift growth drivers and accelerate development in a broader space.

With the successful completion of its breakthroughs in cargo and container throughput, SPG's pivotal role in connecting the northern and southern regions and linking the western and eastern areas and its position as a hub port have become even more prominent. This means that SPG is bound to realize a new leap-forward in its journey of building into an international shipping hub center in Northeast Asia and a world-class sea port, and will break waves in the process of comprehensively improving its service ability for the port and shipping sector.

双双跨越 圆满收官!山东港口2022年货物吞吐量超越16亿吨、集装箱吞吐量超越3700万标箱

12月30日,山东港口2022年货物吞吐量突破16亿吨,集装箱量突破3700万标箱,继续稳居全球第一、第三位,增幅分别达6.4%、8.7%,整体竞争力再攀新高峰,实现历史性全新跨越,向着加快建设世界一流的海洋港口的目标又迈出坚实一步。

党的二十大指出,要发展海洋经济,保护海洋生态环境,加快建设海洋强国。2018年3月,习近平总书记对山东赋予了“要更加注重经略海洋”“加快建设世界一流的海洋港口”的政治任务。2021年10月,习近平总书记在山东视察期间,又对山东工作提出了“三个走在前”的重要指示要求,为山东港口高质量发展指明了路径和方向。

面对这道“必答题”和“必选项”,山东港口以货物吞吐量和集装箱量分别跨越16亿吨、3700万标箱大关,将自身锻造成世界级港口集群,交出了一份亮眼答卷。

山东港口坚持陆海双向发力,海向新增航线37条,航线总数达327条,其中外贸航线233条,数量和密度稳居北方港口首位;陆向不断提升辐射度,内陆港达到32个、班列达到82条,海铁联运箱量突破300万标箱,连续多年保持全国港口首位。

一体化改革是山东港口积势聚能、凝聚合力,不断推进高效、稳健发展的动力源泉,是山东港口在更大范围内优化资源配置,在更大空间转换动能、提档升级的最强底气。

随着此次双跨越的圆满完成,山东港口沟通南北、连接东西的“棋眼”地位更加凸显,枢纽港地位进一步提升,东北亚国际航运枢纽中心、世界一流海洋港口建设必将实现全新跃迁,在港航综合服务能级全面提升中乘风破浪、再立潮头。
