Education

•Diploma/degree from an accredited nursing school or university；•Valid nursing license from country or State/Province of origin is required；

•Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support with renewal of Advanced Cardiac
Life Support certification every two years from a recognized educational institution, is
required.

Qualifications

•Current and in good standing Register Nurse licensing. 

•Minimum of three (3) years recent experience is required in the fields of Emergency Room,
Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Critical Care Unit, or Trauma Unit. 

•Intermediate to Advanced verbal and written level of English is required. 

•Must provide a chronology of all medical activities since graduation from nursing school.

Required Documents upon Boarding

   Nurses must bring the following documents or their photocopies with them when they arrive to
the ship: Nursing School Diploma, ACLS, BLS and professional license certificates that are
valid for the entire lengths of their contract. It is the responsibility of the Nurse to take the
courses and tests that are necessary to keep these licenses valid along with any necessary post-graduat credits.

Physical Requirements

   While performing the essential functions of this job, all team members are required to stand;
walk long distances on the ship; use hands to touch, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms;
talk, hear, taste and smell. All vessel positions require repetitive motion of bending, climbing,
going up and down stairs and being able to lift up to 50 pounds. This job requires specific
vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth
perception and ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in Public Health, Environ-mental Health, Nursing,
Medical Technology, Microbiology, or closely related field.

•With a minimum 3 years of experience in implementing and evaluating public health or
infection control programs and working with regulatory agencies,

OR 

•2 years of shipboard experience as a PHSS, Environmental Officer, Chief Nurse or
Compliance related position. 

AND 

•Willing to take a course in Infection Control approved by RCG.

•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite productsincluding Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook,
plus a variety of other word-processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail, and presentation software

•Ability to work in a dynamic, flexible and fast-paced environment, and multi-task and remain
organized

•Current CIC (Certificate in Infection Control) or equivalent or willing to take RCG approved
course 

•Managerial/leadership and training skills 

•Knowledge of Public Health regulations and international laws 

•Understanding of Potable and Recreational Water Systems and Pest Management

•All shipboard employees must be physically able to participate in emergency life saving
procedures and drills. Full use and range of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and
hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency
including the lowering of lifeboats. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
 

•All shipboard employees must be able to communicate in the English language in order to
understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive
instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to
questions from guests, supervisors and co-workers.
